Dustin McKamie: Model

Dustin McKamie: Model

I had the opportunity to shoot a local actor, soon-to-be model last week. Dustin McKamie went to New York a few weeks back for auditions with over a thousand other talents, including my good friend, DJ Rouse.

Dustin came back from the event having been voted Actor of the Year and Male Fitness Model of the Year by the judging panel. The funny thing is, Dustin hadn’t ever modeled before! Now, armed with a full Steller portfolio, he is on his way to L.A. to start his new career.

We shot down on the Plaza…yet again. I think I shoot there too often!…Anyway, we got everything he needed to kick-start his portfolio and had a blast doing it.

Notes: Shot natural light, Nikon D200 with 50mm 1.4, processed in Adobe Lightroom with my exclusive Steller set of presets (coming soon to photographers everywhere!). Touch-ups in Photoshop.

  17. MC "Baldy" Zach

i wish i had your head of hair. You really need to post a picture of me with my fine, cute, hot girlfriend, Lauren. I think that I might propose to her soon and invite all my classes that i teach to the reception. You might not be my best man though you are my only bro. *not really MC

Stefanie: Senior 2008

Stefanie is awesome. She is fun, very intelligent and, as you can see from the photos, very pretty too! We shot on the Country Club Plaza and at her gorgeous home by a local lake. Her parents rock! Her mother and grandma accompanied her for the shoot and I had the opportunity to meet dad at their home. He even let me hold his new iPhone…oh, and they are “mac” people, too! These are folks I can relate to. :-) Too fun!

Oh, and Stefanie is a super good pal with Jamie, another cool senior I shot with last year.

Adrian Zaragoza, Artistic Director at Beauty Brands on the Plaza, did her hair before our shoot. We promptly went out into the humid hotness of the evening and began the shoot! Boy, it was hot out. I was perspiring…no, I was sweating…like crazy (can’t wait for Fall!), but I didn’t melt, so I guess my mom was wrong about me being sugary sweet, huh? ;-)

Without further ado, here are the results from the joy that was Stefanie’s session.

First Frame…Rocking!

Looks like her mom!

Gorgeous photos! I really love your Senior work. Very inspiring!

  2. Dennis

The shot that you PS’d her name and year on is great. I really want to put a little more design in my work like that. Good stuff. Can you tell me what font you used on that?

  3. Myra

Great session, Dustin! What a beautiful young woman. She’s got a very contagious smile, and such dazzling eyes. I love how you show so many sides of her personality.

  4. Luke

Hey man…why do we photogs go out there when its so hot??? Great stuff as usual there man! Just curious…what equipment you using these days??

  5. Kate Mefford

You are rocking and rolling, bro! LOVE those! That first one is awesome…

  6. Kristi

    Dustin,
What a fantastic group of photos. It’s obvious that she is very beautiful, but you truly brought out the very best in her. Great on all fronts. I love the one by the phone and the fourth from last where she is looking directly up at you….the eyes!! Oh my!

  7. Ricardo Tambasco

    A really great session, Dustin.
She is very beautiful and you got the best from her as Kristi said.
The one she is laughing in b&w, with wrinkles on her nose, is so natural, she looks fantastic!
But I see you are a smart guy since you got the best one for yourself: the last one, with the aging effect, is just perfect! ;o)
    Grats on the great work.

  8. Heather Cole

    Dustin,

You are amazing! I want new senior pictures! :)

  9. Caroline Mashburn

Stefanie you are sooo beautiful! These are truly amazing pictures.
