Lee’s Summit West senior, Katie, rocked the house with her location recommendation. I had never shot at this particular park in Lee’s Summit, and it was a perfect day for some fun photos and she was even willing to break some rules with me to get some fun shots by a beautiful little water garden (people, please don’t tell the Parks & Rec that we trespassed! Shhh!) Ha!

Katie is quiet and thougthful. She is very active in local theatre, not only at her school, but also all around the city. She adores being backstage and making the shows come alive with her set and lighting designs. I can’t wait to catch a showing of one of her plays.

Last year, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the Mannix crew and shoot Jamie’s senior photos.  The whole family is absolutely beautiful and are a true-blue, genuine all American group of people.

This year, I got to shoot Jordan, who graduates in 2008. Jordan is a soft-spoken dude, who is kind and has a quick smile. The guy is built like a football player, because he is one. Although I am six foot tall, he towers over me! Jordan, his uber-cool Mom and I headed down to the Plaza which is one of Jordan’s favorite places. We had a fun time exploring some new areas down there and we didn’t even get security called on us this time. Pretty cool, huh?

Yes, I am the skinny, white, bald geek and Jordan is the strong, huge, tan, good-lookin’ guy. Rub it in. Go ahead.

Stefanie is awesome. She is fun, very intelligent and, as you can see from the photos, very pretty too! We shot on the Country Club Plaza and at her gorgeous home by a local lake. Her parents rock! Her mother and grandma accompanied her for the shoot and I had the opportunity to meet dad at their home. He even let me hold his new iPhone…oh, and they are “mac” people, too! These are folks I can relate to. Too fun!

Oh, and Stefanie is a super good pal with Jamie, another cool senior I shot with last year.

Adrian Zaragoza, Artistic Director at Beauty Brands on the Plaza, did her hair before our shoot. We promptly went out into the humid hotness of the evening and began the shoot! Boy, it was hot out. I was perspiring…no, I was sweating…like crazy (can’t wait for Fall!), but I didn’t melt, so I guess my mom was wrong about me being sugary sweet, huh?
